Best Ways To Get Rid of Unwanted Upper Lip Hair
It is not a secret to anyone that facial hair is one of the most undesirable things for women. I faced this problem at the age of 16 and even though my hair was fair, it was really noticeable so I decided to deal with it right away. I tried many longer-lasting methods to get rid of the unwanted hair, used dozens of substances and drugs both natural and manufactured. Some of them were effective and other weren’t at all, so I decided to share my experience with you. I hope this information will be useful and will help you avoid my mistakes.
Shaving.I strongly don’t recommend you to shave hair with a razor or trim it with scissors ‘cause you’ll eventually end up with a patchy moustache. The same is with hair removal cream or tweezers – it will only make things worse. Of course these options are painless, but be prepared that your hair will appear again even faster and will be dark and thick. Moreover, after a day or two you will already have stubble which looks awful on the girl’s face. It would be a real pain in the butt, believe me!
Bleaching. You can try to bleach your facial hair if you don’t feel an acute need to remove it completely. You can dye it blonde or use some cream bleach if it is short and sparse, but be careful with that too! If you chose a wrong one which is not appropriate for your skin, there is a high risk to burn it or cause irritation. Always make a spot-test beforehand and follow the instruction.
Waxing. If you feel yourself uncomfortable having even fair hair and want to get rid of it completely, there is a couple of tips for you. Waxing is a longer-lasting solution that would cause your upper lip hair grow thin. It removes the follicle and guarantees you at least two weeks of smooth skin. But remember, that is might be quite painful in the beginning, especially if your skin is sensitive. So how to wax your hair properly? The first option is to buy special waxing strips which are ready to use without further preparation. However, bear in mind that they may be less effective than spreadable wax. Remember to clean your skin thoroughly before applying wax and act according to the instruction. Always apply the wax, whether you use strips or spreadable wax, in the direction your hair grows and then tear it off with a quick move in the opposite direction. Don’t forget to remove the residue and apply some soothing cream or oil to reduce irritation and redness.
Sugaring. I also tried sugar waxing both at the salon and at home. It is really easy to make a substance by yourself from sugar and lemon juice – 100% natural! I like that a lot as my upper lip stays smooth for a long time and there is less ingrown hair afterwards.
Threading. You can also try threading, but if you are not sure whether you can make it by yourself, it is better to have it done in salons by a professional to avoid complications. This way of hair removing can also be quite painful, but still very effective.
Laser removal and electrolysis. Finally, I was fed up with constantly growing hair and after all I decided to try laser removal. It guarantees you permanent solution after couple of treatments. Of course, it is quite a pricey procedure but it definitely worth it, especially if your hair is dark. You’ll save a lot of time if you do laser removal instead of waxing or bleaching all the time. If your skin is dark or you have light hair it might not be an ideal solution but you can try electrolysis which also perfectly removes hair follicle.
Which of these methods will perform the best for you? Well, it all depends on the individual needs of your body, it took me 4 years to find a perfect solution for myself. And of course it always worth consulting a specialist before undergoing any treatment. But the most important thing is to stay in harmony with yourself and not to harm your health trying to conform to the norms imposed by society.
